Today we arrive in Split. We dock and take a bus to Tugare where we spend the morning learning to cook Soparnik. We rolled out the dough and chopped onion, garlic and chard while being serenaded by our host. We are surrounded by giant mountains and served prosciutto, cheese, fruit and of course wine and Orahovac, a Croatian liqour. We again meet the family donkeys, apparently a routine household member in Croatia. Life just doesn't get any better!
After our cooking lesson, we return to split where we have a guided walking tour of the palace. Daniela our guide was terrific and she really brought the ancient days in Split to life. The palace was enormous and filled with shops and restaurants. After our tour it was back to the ship to lounge/nap and then later that evening return to the palace for dinner and some shopping. Tomorrow is our last day on the ship, but I am spending an additional 4 days in Split at a hotel. Just not ready to go home yet!
