This month was a great treat. Austin and Kyle came to visit from California. I took the train to Rome and we spent three days in Rome before coming back to Lucca. They were both exhausted after a 12 hour plane trip with no layover, but they handled the jet lag like troopers. We did several excursions including visiting the Pantheon, a tour under the Trevi Fountain, the floor of the Colosseum, Palantine Hill, the Roman Forum, and several amazing churches. We stumbled upon a church, The Basilica Saint Clement, which was built on top of another church which was still underground. It was amazing to walk two floors under the street level to this intact church which had a running spring going through it! Unfortunately we were unable to take pictures in the underground portion. Here are some pics from our Roman Holiday.
