As they say in Bridgerton (for those of you who watch) "My Dearest Readers"... I have been painfully remiss in writing. I spent most of January as a true Italian. I had dentist appointments, doctor appointments and oh yes a trip to SWITZERLAND! My brother Peter and his wife Janette decided to come to Switzerland to ski the amazing Swiss alps. My thinking..."oooh I will meet them there" Best laid plans go awry. While Switzerland was absolutely beautiful and I am going to bore you with a million pictures on this blog, let me give you a perspective of Switzerland. Now I have lived on the east coast for 12 years and have done work in New York and celebrated life (partied) in New York....nothing compares you to how expensive Switzerland actually is. To give you a sense of what I was up against, dinner which was a cup of sweet potato fries, 4 potstickers and a bottle of white wine (yes, a bottle, do not judge!) was $170.00!!!... wait let me back up. Pete and Janette were skiing so I planned my itinerary as follows, Lucerne, Hergiswil, Interlaken and Zurich. I made Hergiswil my home point which was on the lake. Absolutely astoundingly beautiful. The train was a short 2 minute walk to train station then 10 minutes on the train to get to Lucerne. I scheduled a tour to go to the highest train point in Europe Jungfraujoch. Don't even try to pronounce it unless you speak German. At 11,333 Feet it was up there! Located between 2 glaciers it was surreal and very very cold. The train stopped in Interlaken a beautiful Swiss town where we disembarked and walked the town for an hour. We were told to be promptly back at the bus at 11:00. I was the last to get back to the bus, damn Siri and her timer. Of course everyone was giving me stink eye. Oh ya, did I mention I was last to get on the bus in Lucerne, whatever, I'm on vacation. Anyway, we journey up to Jungfraujoch. You can only stay outside for mere minutes due to the cold and the altitude. However, inside they had this very cool ice museum to stroll through. That turned out to be quite fun. Some pics of the lake, Interlaken and Hergiswil before I continue....
Lucerne
Interlaken

At the top of Jungfraujoch there is an ice museum. It was bizarre!
Near my hotel in Hergiswil there was a glass blowing factory within walking distance. What an incredible experience. The pictures do not do it justice but it was a great and unexpected treat.
...AND FINALLY ZURICH!
I stayed at the Five Resort in Zurich which is a chain hotel out of Dubai...so elegant!
