Thanksgiving Italian style

Soooo...Thanksgiving in Italy is rough! You can't buy Campbells soup and French's green beans for your casserole. They don't have Mrs. Cubbison's Stuffing in a box. So this is what I did. I soaked shallots overnight per my son Ryan's instructions and my house smelled to high heaven. The next day they were fried. Okay I have topping. I had to make homemade cream of chicken soup. Very pasty at first, but finally got it (about 4 quarts because I kept adding too much broth then too much flour!) The herbs were picked from my herb garden, yes I am growing herbs. Sweet potatoes a piece of cake. If they have an abundance of anything in Italy it is vegetables.

Prep started on Monday!

By Thursday I was ready! I bought a half chicken rather than a turkey. Everything in the oven ready to go and then.....

WHERE IS THE CHICKEN?!

ON THE KITCHEN FLOOR. DROPPED IT!

SHIT HAPPENS!
